Fulton Hogan – New Bunded Tank Footings
Project Description:
Full-service construction of new bunded tank footings, December 2021.
Project details
The project for Fulton Hogan involved the excavation, reinforcement, formwork, placement, and finish of concrete for new bunded tank footings.
This included incorporating drainage falls and sump for the tank stormwater overflow. An 800mm high concrete bund wall for environmental protection in case of overflow was installed.
What were the challenges?
Working in and around regular inclement weather we encountered an old concrete footing under the existing asphalt which required remediation or design modification before new foundations could be completed.
How did Terazzo solve these challenges?
We modified the reo caging with the input of the structural engineer and changed the location of the sump to limit excavation that was required within the footprint of the footing. This maintained structural integrity without the need for extensive additional excavation expenses to the client, Fulton Hogan.
Project result
We addressed an unforeseen logistical issue with a cost-effective solution to the client while delivering a successful project on time and on budget.
