James Hardie Concrete Pit
Project Description
James Hardie Concrete Pit for autoclave ovens
About Project
Terazzo was contracted to construct a concrete pit for autoclave ovens used for the cure drying of James Hardie construction products.
The project involved:
• Detailed excavation
• Formwork and steel-fixing
• Concrete placement and finishing
What were the challenges?
The concrete pit was 60 meters long with 51 hold down points required for the installation of the autoclave ovens. The project therefore required a high-level of accuracy for the location of the hold-down points to facilitate the installation.
How did Terazzo solve these challenges?
Terazzo provided pin-point accuracy for the location of each hold-down bolt within the concrete pit. This enabled for perfect positioning of the autoclave ovens to be installed quickly and cost-efficiently.
